Ms. Martin is known for her negotiation skills and expertise, leadership, coaching, and supply management experience. She believes procurement and contracting is a source of competitive advantage and a means to mitigate risks. With proven successes managing high-dollar and high-risk contracts, she knows how to deliver a unique blend of experience and knowledge to the individual, not-for-profit organization, and world of supply management professionals. 

Ms. Martin has literally started at the bottom, working up through the ranks to her current position of Senior Strategic Purchasing Agent at Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperatives. She finished top in her class with a B.S. in Business Administration Degree, as well as a Masters of Leadership Development Degree from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in St. Mary-of- the-Woods, Indiana.

The Procurement Department of General Motors was the inception of Ms. Martin’s career, which served as the foundation for the positions and assignments that followed. These include holding a career status with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NWSC) and Naval Ammunition Production Engineering Center (NAPEC). Ms. Martin’s diverse experience and background includes working on projects with attorneys, inventory, sales, marketing, and business development. Just prior to Hoosier Energy, Ms. Martin held the position of Executive Director with a local Chamber of Commerce where she was hired for change management and sustainability. During her six-year tenure she developed and implemented new business opportunities through a variety of programs. She increased membership by 75%, developed and implemented the inaugural budget moving the Chamber from a deficit to ending each year solidly in the black. Ms. Martin brought awareness to the community and state through weekly articles she composed for the Greene County Daily World, as well as various letters, contracts, and petitions necessary to the daily operation of the Chamber. She acted as spokesperson and representative both locally and statewide for commerce, tourism, and economic development. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Martin has served on multiple not-for-profit boards and currently sits on the advisory board of Pages & Chapters, a family literacy not-for-profit organization, First Vice President of the Institute for Supply Management Cooperative Utilities Affiliate(ISM-CU), and board member of the Utility Purchasing Management Group. Some of the recent speaking engagements include: ISM National Capital Area Affiliate, ISM-CU Professional Development Conference, and at the 2016 NRECA Tech-Advantage. 

Ms. Martin has consulted not-for-profits from their grass-roots efforts and provided a path of sustainability for continual improvements. In addition, she has worked with clients both domestically and internationally providing business development services.  In 2015 Ms. Martin founded TM Consulting Service, LLC to continue sharing her passion for leadership and supply management. Specializing in contracts, negotiations, and service procurement, Ms. Martin brings over twelve years of experience of supply management.  A Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) and a Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD), Ms. Martin believes learning is life long and strives for continual improvements in her career, as well as in her personal life.  She brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm to organizations.
